Diamond Jubilee Scholarships
In all, 1,015 of these scholarships have been granted to deserving graduate and undergraduate sisters to further their educational goals. These women exhibit academic excellence as well as dedication to serving the community and Alpha Omicron Pi.
A prior DJS recipient Hannah B. Jacobs states, "In addition to the monetary value of the scholarship, there was also the feeling of honor that accompanied it. It was an unbelievable feeling to receive an award from an organization that has had such an amazing impact on my life. Once again AOII proved to me that the ways in which my life is touched by the fraternity, its members and its programs is never ending."
Scholarship applications are available in October each year. The deadline for sub- mission is March 1. All applications are reviewed and recipients chosen by the Foundation Scholarship Committee.
AOII Foundation
Academics
Alpha Omicron Pi is dedicated to supporting the efforts of all members to be women who strive to grow intellectually and be vital participants in the world around them. Through active involvement in a collegiate and later an alumnae chapter, women are challenged to learn and to lead. To assist in these efforts, AOII is continually developing educational materials to be shared within individual chapters so that these members can influence and impact their communities. One collegian described her AOII experience in this way, “I joined AOII to meet people, to make friends, and it was the right thing to do. But it became much more than that – I learned leadership skills, study habits, social skills, and gained self-esteem. My eyes were opened to a whole new world of possibilities.”
